Owning a New Trane Gas Furnace

This year, I simply have to invest in a new heating system for my home. I purchased this property about ten years ago. At that time, the furnace was already ten years old, so now it's truly on it's last legs, and in need of a dignified burial. My brother installs heating systems for a living, so I asked him for his advice on which company to go with. He recommended that I purchase a new trane gas furnace. I visited with him the next day and picked up whatever literature he had available on their product lines. Based on the total square footage of my home, I opted to purchase the Trane XV80 Variable Speed Gas Furnace.

The specifications of this trane gas furnace are quite impressive. The feature I will enjoy most is the quietness of the system. This is the result of a well-insulated cabinet, a variable speed blower/fan, and two-stage gas heat. The physical size and structure of the unit makes it easy to accommodate. It is a 40 inch high cabinet and 28 inches in depth. It can be positioned in either a vertical or horizontal stance. This system is built to last ! It has a cleanable filter, a 24 Volt fuse that protects the system's controls, a one piece heat exchanger, and the unit's surface is coated in an electrolysized-deposition paint.

This particular model of trane gas furnace is backed by a Twenty Year Limited Warranty on the heat exchanger component only. There is a Five Year Limited Warranty on any internal functioning parts installed after October 1, 2001. For other componenets of the heating system, optional extended warranties can be purchased to cover such things as labor. As technological sciences have continued to advance, the efficiency and reliability of home heating systems continues to improve. Twenty years ago, a gas furnace had only a 60% efficiency rating. Today, gas furnace models such as the XV80, have an 80% energy efficiency rating. Other models of Trane gas furnaces achieve a staggering 97% efficiency ranking. Clearly, there are steady improvements in the field of home heating technologies.
